[Bill Hummel]

A friend of mine in Reno, NV is having this 812 S/C Beverly restored. He wants to know the history of this car.

Does anyone recognize this car from the serial #'s?

This post is in response to BOD member Bill Hummel's post to the Cord
810/812 Forum this afternoon. Of course the obvious answer is " from the
Auburn Automobile Company plant at Connersville, IN Feb. 1937".
We know that is not what Bill is asking, of course. Bill is seeking information
for a friend , about a vehicle under restoration at Reno, NV.
The vehicle pictured in Bill's post is a 1937 Cord S/C Custom Beverly
Serial # 310115S , Engine # FC 2665 , CNC Body # C105 173. The unit
is owned by Sil Petricciani of Reno, Nevada who has owned the car since
about 1965. Sil has been gathering parts for a restoration for many years
and now at age 91 ( born in 1917 ) he has employed Everett Adams dba
Adams Custom Engines of Reno, NV to perform a top grade restoration.
Sil is the gentleman pictured alongside the restoration in progress. Some
one should tactfully remind Sil and Everett ( I know Everett knows better )
that the transaxle case and engine block are done in black, not red. It is
Sil's car and if he wants it to be red, OK. Restoration is what counts.
The photo Bill sent was taken in Everett Adams' shop in Reno with the
great sign on the wall reading " We Work Steady By Jerks ". Regarding
Everett Adams and his connection with our hobby interest please refer to
the fascinating 10-20-2006 post by Bill Hummel to the Harrah's Automo-
bile Collection thread under the General Discussion Area. Adams is most
capable and Sil will have a fine Cord when Everett is finished with the job.
I have no information about Sil's car prior to his having acquired it.
I would respectfully suggest that a written inquiry to our fine historian of
Cord 810-812 , Mr. Ron Irwin of Artesia, CA , might provide some infor-
mation about earlier history of ownership of the car. Ron has many notes
on file concerning vehicles listed in his wonderful Master Cord List.

Hi Jonathan,

I was actually asking the question for Sil, through a relative of his. He's looking for the car's history from 1937 to when he bought it in the 50's.
